Quarterhorse - Large - Young - Male - Horse - Lucky

**Please review adoption costs and policies on our home page before inquiring about a horse. Thanks!** Lucky was a Nurse Mare Orphan Foal who lost his mother at just under three weeks of age. In May of 2008, Lucky went to school for an educational visit. He traveled very well, and was very playful for the children. Lucky was also the guest of honor at one of our fund raising events in August called "Howlin' for Horses". This event was held at a private dog park, which he inhabited the "Small Dog Area". He greeted the public (and their dogs) with enthusiasm and ease. Lucky loves all of his herd mates here at the Sanctuary. He loves personal attention and will come when he is called. He is truly like a big dog. Lucky was gelded in July, and was very good about having his surgery site tended to by day three. He will stand for the farrier and is no problem to catch, halter or lead. We are not exactly sure what breeds are part of his heritage, but feel he most resembles a Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse. He is 1 and 1/2 years old, but he is already well traveled. **Update 5/21/09** Lucky is sprouting up like a bean pole and has a very flashy look to him. The local vet believes Lucky will grow to be around 15.3hh or possibly 16hh. We feel with his personality and good looks he will be a blue ribbon contender for sure. He will be 2 yrs old this winter and ready for saddling and training, which means he he could be your 2010 show stopper.
