UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM: "She's doing really well. She LOVES any new toy she receives and is learning to play with the other dogs. She's been fine with new people (adults and respectful kids) and she did fine with the dog I was pet sitting recently for 3 days last week. I think she would be fine as an only dog or with a laid back canine companion. As she learns how to play better with other dogs, she could do well with a more active doggy household but right now rough dog play seems to confuse her --as if she never learned dog body language and isn't sure how to react. I hope to get her out to a dog park soon! I brought home a bag full of plush dog toys this weekend and within an hour she had ALL of them surrounding her dog bed! She often greets us with a toy in her mouth, as if to show off her new 'treasure'. : ) I'm so glad she's getting the life that all unwanted dogs deserve! Thank you for your huge part in saving her! I think she would NOT require a fenced yard and walks. She sticks so close to her people and seems to have no desire to explore much. The right home would need to know that Kisses will need Optimune artificial eye drops for the rest of her life. She has dry eye syndrome. She needs the drops 2 times per day. She is a great dog and deserves the best that life has to offer!" This is such a sad story. Kisses was on her way to a Canadian rescue. She stopped in Columbus at my vet to get a health certificate. She was in very bad physical shape and needed to stay here. She has a tumor on her neck and is very very thin. We are giving her TLC and just had her tumor aspirated to check for cancer. Please keep Kisses in your prayers. I have been paying for Kisses' veterinary bills so any kind of donations would be so greatly appreciated! She has been learning house manners and getting along with all the foster mom's dogs (except for one but we don't know who the instigator is). Kisses is a sweet girl and we are praying that she will be adoptable soon. She will require a fenced yard for adoption. Kisses' adoption fee is $175, which includes all vetting (spay/neuter, all vaccinations including rabies, heartworm test & started on prevention), started on flea/tick prevention and a leash & collar.
