Pit Bull Terrier - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog - Girl
"Girl" was found as a stray by a good Samaritan who already has 4 dogs ( and she gets along with them (especially the two bigger ones) and Girl's not made one aggressive move or growl with the dogs or humans she's come into contact with. In fact she's one of the sweetest dogs I've been around and wags her tail so hard when she sees us that her rear end wobbles back and forth. She loves to run, fetch, play chase, and wrestle with the bigger dogs. She seems to know sit, but it takes her a couple times and we've been trying to work with her on that. Many times she'll actually sit back on her haunches and put her front paws up so I think someone worked with her a little. She's been eating really well which is good, and doesn't react at all to my hands being near her food bowl when she is eating. I've taken her to our dogs' vet and she is healthy and parasite free, but does have a bit of a heart murmur (not uncommon to the breed from what I've been told), she's got a ring worm which I'm medicating her for and is about gone, and an allergy to flea bites (no active fleas...they must have gotten to her when she was running loose) which I'm also medicating her for. She even let our vet cut her nails. We are getting her a rabies shot this Friday to be safe along with a test for heart worms. We do need to get her spayed, but we're just waiting to see how things go with her before we have that done. The only things I'm not sure about are her interactions with kids and cats because she's not been around either while I've had her. To adopt this dog you must own your own home and may not live in a municipality which does not allow this breed This dog is a courtesy post and has not been evaluated by Pitties Place nor do they fall under our contracts. Pitties Place assumes the dogs courtesy listed have been evaluated prior to being listed for adoption. However, we recommend that anyone interested in adopting a dog proceed with their own temperament evaluation. Help from a professional is recommended if the potential owner is not familiar with temperament testing. The evaluation should be done by someone who understands the breed and its characteristics. While some pit bulls don't get along with other dogs, their clownish personalities and affection toward people make them wonderful companions for people.
