Even the Ugly Duckling needs love. Im not as handsome on the outside but sometimes its whats inside thats important, right? Thats what they say yet no ones seems to be willing to provide me a wonderful forever home. I know Im well taken care of at COFOAF but theres other birds around, and some are loud and Im just not use to such noise and chaos. PG, approx. age 6-7 yr old Goffins Cockatoo, is looking for someone who will provide him a stable, nurturing home. PG came to COFOAF with a severe chewing/plucking feather problem. This was due to being kept in a cage, in a spare bedroom, with hardly any socialization, a cage not suitable for a Goffins with one toy in it, and a poor diet. COFOAF is possibly his 3rd or 4th home. We were told PG stood for Pretty Girl and the previous owner was told when they got the bird, it was a girl. Not so, PG is a boy but I figure its really too late to change the name now but thats just me. PG has been vetted and so far theres no health related issue causing the feather chewing/plucking and were trying a course of Prozac to see if he can benefit from that. It could have been going on so long that its become a habit but that doesnt mean PG doesnt deserve someone whos willing to provide a great home and love him as he deserves. PG is not good with men but seems to handle women better. PG can be loud sometimes but not ear piercing like some Toos. He often yells, not screams, and unfortunately he came to us yelling Shut up. I think with someone who is willing to devote much needed time and patience PG will become a great companion bird. We are looking for someone with parrot experience and prefer PG to go to a home where he is the only bird, or someone with only one bird. It seems too many other birds can be just as stressful on him. PG does not come with a cage so he will need a suitable parrot cage.
